hi just a question but wanted to know if i should be able to push any of the valves by hand. its just because i want to torque down the cams but i dont want to break anything. I have the engine in TDC and the camshafts are aligned to the approx. position of the TDC marking. however, the cams are quite seated right, and i dont want to place the caps on or torque them until i know its ok to do.

You can't push any of the valves open by hand. If #1 is at TDC and the cam marks are lined up then it is OK to tighten the cams down. At that cam position there are some valves open. The cam will not just drop all the way into the bearing journals, it needs to be tightened into them to push the valves open. Be sure to check valve clearences before closing it all up.
