It is raining outside. I would like to be inside when I bleed my brakes. I already have the entire brake system off, why can't I bleed them inside? I know there will be a mess. but it seems like it would be easier to remove air if I can move the lines and caliper. install will be tricky, I think i'll need to remove the headlight.

The caliper needs to be mounted, with the disc between the pads, for the bleeding process to work correctly. If you position the caliper in an approximtion of its mounted orientation and put a chunk of plywood between the pads to replicate the rotor, you COULD do it, I suppose. I don't know how you'd hold the M/C to get any leverage on the...lever.

    Possible? Yes. I wouldn't.

Besides the rotor tween the pads, you would also need to be very carefull transporting the master cylinder back to the bike and mounting it back to the bars. A little bit of air in the line is a BIG deal.

    Bleed them off the Bike?
    Not a good idea.
You need the controlled environment and lines all where they need to be.

    Flush them off the Bike?
    Sure.
Stick a piece of pipe in the vice.
    Mount the Master and Lever.
    Flush away.

Sounds like double the mess, double the trouble, and double the effort to me.

I would put the brake sytem back on the bike and bleed the entire sytem while its in place its the only way to make sure all the air is out, plus you dont want any contaminates (water) in the lines.
