    I have a 84 fj600 same engine as the xj they just changed the name a year or so latter.
    I have a chance to grab a 82 650 Turbo for a couple hundred bucks. He said the motor is froze up and I was wondering if i can put the turbo and what ever else on my 84?
    Any help here would be great cause he want to get rid of it by this weekend cause he's moving out of state.

    Short answer is No - wayyy too much is different between the turbo & non-turbo engines.

    Long answer is that if you have enough time, money, and determination - anything is possible.

    You'll need to rejet carbs or replace entirely.
    Add a fuel pump.
    Add a pressure regulator
    New petcock
    New dash/computer
    Knock sensor
    Boost sensor
    New exhaust
    Oil piping
    New oil pan
    etc.

    and we've just scratched the surface. It would be cheaper to buy a used turbo.

    On the brighter side, you can put the turbo on ebay and probably fetch a few bucks.
