Arent there just some days you just wanna take your bike and chuck it?? Gain super hulk powers and jsut throw it across the yard.. Grr.
Everything I've done to my bike the past day has been me messing up... I'm so ticked right now. But now I've got her back to riding status and she's ok. Small gas leak where I broke the JB Weld on my petcock, but thats it.. Rar. Everything jsut went wrong today.

Hang in there. Sort of like gambling. Patience for the day where everything goes right.

From your list, it looks like you are down to the easier stuff. If you want to do your own seat cover, check out B&H. I used an air staple gun, and it was super easy.

    I concur....

Frustration leads to anger. Anger leads to destructive tendencies... Destructive tendencies lead to wrenches stuck in the ceiling....errrrr I mean... the DAAAAAARK SIIIIDE...

I feel your pain. I kicked stuff around my garage and let out a few not so lady like words trying to get my bike up and running.

There were days I wanted to take a sledge hammer to the damn thing and toss it out in the trash.

The only dent (not major, but it's there nonetheless) in my Norton's tank is from where big dummy dropped his giant-a** fork cap socket on it because he wasn't paying attention...

I've lived with that one for over 30 years now and it still smiles at me...

It happens to all of us. Ever back over (right through actually, flattened it like a cartoon) a whole drain pan full of used oil because you left it in a stupid spot before you pulled the brake and let the car roll off the ramps?

hahahaha Sorry, I just got a mental picture of that happening.

I backed out of the garage, wasn't paying attention and knocked my bike over >.< It hit the wall of the garage so it didn't fall totally over. But it put a nice dent in my tank and broke the fairing. I was so pissed I didn't notice the scratch it put down the side of my van.

Days like that are just plain awful. Has a depressing effect on the rest of your day.
Good thing this site is here though! Or else I'd be dropping a match in my gas tank as we speak

Try having a Turbo in parts all over the yard. I also called to have it hauled away, but bit the bullet and finished the job. It was very unsatisfying though.

SLK- you are roughly in the same 'zone' as I was.

Trying to do things to fast, out of order, and not right.

You definitely have come a long way, I have seen you learn things over and over. You are always trying it wrong the first time and having to re-do it.

Learn from my mistakes - learn it 110% the right way, before you even try it. That way you don't waste time and anger trying to do it the wrong way.

Ask some others here, they'll tell you how 'in the dumps' I have been.

But as of 2 nights ago - I am back on the road with more power than ever, and still haven't done my second sync/tune.
Pulling the wheel up in second sometimes. Yet I am DEFINITELY on the rich side. Awesome.

Give it time, learn to 'walk away' when you get frustrated. I don't know where you work on your bike (I believe you said outside) but if you have a workshop of any sort, get to fixing it up, turning it into a 'mancave' like mine :)

Since the beginning of this bike - I have converted my friends shed to a mancave.

    Upgrades?

New lighting, wiring for the lighting.
Cleaned off workbenches and lined with white contact paper.
Organized EVERYTHING, hung EVERYTHING, and STORED everything.
    Cleaned floors.
Set up 'work area' for bike.
Got a radio set up with speakers mounted to walls, CD player too!
And best of all - WE CUT A HOLE IN THE WALL AND PUT A BRAND NEW AIR CONDITIONER IN!
    HELLS YES!

So nice working in there for 6 hours at a time in a nice cool 73F room, when it's 92 outside with the sun beating on the non-insulated shed.

Find something to keep your mind busy - yet FOCUSED on the bike, but allow you to not get frustrated with it. In other words, give yourself time to think about your 'problem'.

    Good luck.

Gonna add on to my chapter of stupidity.
So yesterday it took me a 3 mile trip down the road and 10 min of idling to figure out that I forgot to attach my Vac line to my tank...
And then today I didnt take my own advice and spray painted my side panel and made the paint turn to liquid goo. Should used a test peice... $%$!...
So that was a royal mess to clean off my panels.. Now it doesnt look.. "perfect" like it did before, a few spots here and there. I need a block sander or somethin to take those out.. Genius right...?

Hang in there - as stated before we all do stupid stuff. Hindsight is always 20-20.

I'll tell you that half way to the ground a couple of weeks ago I knew exactly what I had done wrong. I know Carl knew he should have moved over a lane in that instant.

Look at it this way you have a blemish on a side panel - put it in perspective, learn from it and move on. I could fill volumes with the stupid stuff I've done. Then double that with stupid things I've said :D

I have a half dollar size patch of smushed engine fins from the second time trying to put my jug back on and breaking another new piston ring, which was proceeded by a swing of the mallet I was using. Glad it was only once. That smush always reminds me to keep it cool and walk away :)

    Time for a beer break.

The worst types of damage are those minor incidents that are self-induced. Like Fitz said you remember those for years afterwards.

Ha, did the same thing with my work van in the parking lot at work. Knocked my bike over backing into my spot, then hit it again not realizing what was happening. Bruised it up good, but all before I decided to take the entire thing apart. Two years later....
