    Hello everyone,

So, I have been away from XJ Bikes for quite a while. I donated my bike to Wesley, another XJ Bikes member, since it needs a lot of TLC and a title. And I moved my family to Frederick County, Maryland for my job and didn't have the cash to invest in restoring it. Oh but I logged many hours disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, tuning, and tinkering with those carbs. With the help of the outstanding technological geniuses from these forums.

Fast forward to 2013... I was talking to one of the pastors at Grace Community Church about his hobby building drones and RC cars and planes, and I asked, "Do you also tinker with cars and motorcycles?" He replied, "No I'm not very good with engines. I have a motorcycle, but tis barely running. I think a cylinder is bad." What kind of bike is it... A 1980 Yamaha XJ650. OMG!!

Just last week I drove a trailer over to his house, and brought the black beauty back to my workshop. I invited him and a few friends over to help tear the carbs down and we give them a thorough cleaning. 5 hrs later, once the bench-synched carbs were installed, bowls primed,... the bike fired right up and ran smooth!!! We didn't even have the choke on... I was too excited to remember to flip the switch. :)

I just got back from a glorious ride on some of the most beautiful roads I've ever seen, right here in Frederick Co., MD. I couldn't help but post a few pics of Scott's bike below...
