I need to replace the clamping rings on the air cleaner to carb boot on the carb side as they are not holding the boot tight. The question is will normal hose clamps work on these or is there something particular about the seemingly ridiculously expensive OEM metal clamping rings? If I can use cheap clamps for this does anyone know what size these metal clamping rings are?

you should be able to get generic clamps from any spares shop, have you got one of the old ones to take as a sample?
