Are there any X-er Wizards out there? I am new to this site. Have had my 1986 Maxium-X since new. I let it sit a little too long and the carbs gunked up. Not the first time I've had to clean them up. My question is this. I know that my floats levels are not correct, don't ask why  Does someone have the specs on this and maybe a picture from a service manual you could post?

Also I notice a lot of people talking about a XJCD. Is that some kind of manual that's available and if so where to order?

Thanks for any assistance anyone provides.

    Welcome to the site pjwilkinson

Taken from the XJCD manual for the XJ750X & XJ700X.......

    Float Height Adjustment:
Hold the carburetor in an upside down position.
Incline the carburetor at 60* ~ 70* (so that the end of the float valve does not hang down as a result of float weight.
Measure the distance from the mating surface of the float chamber (gasket removed) to the top of the float.
NOTE: The float should be just resting on, but not depressing, the spring loaded inlet needle.
    Float Height: 17.5 +/- 1.0 mm (0.69 +/- 0.04 in)

    Fuel Level Adjustment:
    Measurement Steps
Place motorcycle on a level surface.
Use a garage jack under the engine to ensure that the carburetor is positioned vertically.
Attach fuel level guage to the drain nozzle.
Losen the drain screw and start the engine.
Check the fuel level, one carb at a time.
    Fuel Level: 3.0 +/- 1.0mm (0.12 +/- 0.04 in) below the carburetor body.
