    Howdy guys,

I just acquired a 1982 XJ750J that's had good amount taken apart by the PO. This is my first bike so my knowledge of them is very limited , just trying to learn as I go(yes I'm ordering th XJcd). While sorting through every thing something didn't strike me as being very right. I have the carb-to-manifold boots and air box-to-carb boots but I've got to be missing something on the carb/manifold side.

This is what my carbs look like (not my picture)

Now the boots sure won't attach to that so what am I missing?

Also the motor turns over via alternator bolt I can't for the life of me get it to turn while trying to push it in gear. If this is normal please excuse my ignorance otherwise any help is duly appreciated.

    Thankyou

The AirBox to Carb Boots slip-over the Outside diameter of the Carb body and are secured by a large "Hose Clamp"

Likewise, the Carbs ... after being seated into the Intake Manifolds, are also secured within the Manifolds by large "Hose Clamps"

The Hose clamps mentioned fit in the recessed ends on the respective Boots and Manifolds.

Do NOT continue turning-over the engine by the Alternator ... Remove the small crank cover and jack-over the engine by rotating the crankshaft.
