Valves adjusted, carbs been to full church services....idle dead on at 1100 , stock air filter , jets 120 main 40 pilot. Take off and stutters then picks right up. Just put new plugs in help. Carbs bench synchd and Im using a 4 gauge synch set up all 4 are spot on . Compression #1 160, #2 150,#3 149,#4 150 these are dry . I was running 124 main and 42 pilot , I was running a K&N switched to paper filter ran horrible , pulled carbs went back to stock ran a little better .All i can figure is my synch is still off , I got it to idle so low it will die by idle knob....first time since Ive had bike that this works like it should...not sure where I go from here

Pod filters are hard to tune and most setups will have dead spots in the throttle. There is no science to it, just trial and error to see what works better
Do you have the factory air box. Install it with stock jets. It will run like new.

Are you running an in-line fuel filter? If not there might be crud in the jets again.
    Did you wet-set float levels?
Have you looked at the plug wires, engine running, in the dark?

New update...I think i got it :) just took it out for a quick ride nice even throttle responce...now I will have to check plugs...but got to to bed so this is tomrrow. To answer k moe I am running Honda CB 750 coils and Bosch (VW) plug wires. I did not wet set floats, set by measuring float height. I did this the same way as my Virago 750, Suzki 750 I will see ...yes running filter and tank cleaned and redcoat lined.

Measuring float height gets you close, but isn't perfect. Check the fuel height with a clear hose.

Off idle stutter, your idle mixture screws are a litttle lean. Open them the width of the slot until it goes away

New update....great idle 1100 rpm, synch gauges all even 5hg ..took it out below 45 runs great ..open throttle struggles at 5000 rpm was slow getting to 55 mph. Only change i made was I pulled out the 124 main and 42 pilot put stock 120 main and 40 pilot....put stock air filter in...before i did this bike would hit 85 quick oh and I was running a k&n filter.( yes stock airbox) I do have a non stock exhaust . Since I was never able to get carb 3 to give a good reading on my gauges , I had pulled the carbs pulled number 3 pulled it apart and found the shaft was slightly scored..polished and put it back in ...now I got it to run the same as 4 2 1 sooo I don't get it...bike has a growl under load not the way it did..the only thing I can think my synch is still off. I'm tempted to pull carbs and put the bigger jets in.

One change at a time until you find the solution. Changing so many things at once just makes it harder to see what helps and what makes it worse.

if you have a colortune plug you can get the pilot screws close to perfect.

Problem Solved!!! I rode about 45 miles last two days bike runs right up to speed ... Now I can get on to a few other things I want to do...No I can't looks like I'm going to have to buy a new washer:mad: well 16 years on a Maytag is not to bad. I might be able to fix it, but it does not have 2 wheels just not as much fun. I will have to wait to buy some of the things I want to do on the bike.:(

Buy a usd washer from an appliance repair shop. They will give you a trade-in value on your broken one. The last used washing machine I bought has been working reliably for almost 2o years, and cost less than half the price of a new washer.
