    Would I be able to put the carbs from a good running 82 seca 650 on an 86 maxim 650?

    yes it's a 1NH... '86 700 maxim. i'm guessing this means the jets in the carbs are different. i should just leave the SECA alone and get the MAXIM going too.

    Not only the jetting, but the XJ700 uses Hitachi HSC33, whereas the 650 used HSC32, so I doubt it would be a clean swap without messing around with intake boots and airbox boots, etc.
