Ok since I messed my previous exhaust thread up with this carb nonsense I will start new with this issue.
It has come to my attention that my bike before my ownership has had the rack of carbs switched to a set from the 750 I should have paid more attention to the air jets when I was doing all this cleaning but I didn’t read the jets and see if they matched the spec other than the main and pilot jets which are 120 mains and 40 idle jets. So I reassembled it with those jets noting that it was at some point running rich but I couldn’t be sure the cause it barely ran at all when I got it.

Anyway my basic question is now do I jet it to match what I have for air jets installed or try and locate a set of original size air jets and start from there with my final tuning. Currently it’s too lean across the board pilots need to likely go to a 42 and mains need to go up as well. I had thought I needed to use no more than the 120 mains it had but with the main air jet being 80 instead of 50 I do not know where to start. I am running pod filters and currently stock exhaust. If I were to go up on the mains I would figure 128 (4 steps larger) and 42 (2 steps) on the pilots.
The spark plugs read very lean!
