carbs not taken care of

    I have my carbs broken from the rack. I checked my throttle shaft seals and it was bad they looked like the PO soaked the whole rack or something but the seal was deteriorated And all ripped up. so what else should I replace while I have them apart because all the rubber is probally junk. I will put new o rings in the fuel T's and them fuel connector between each carb. I am also gonna replace the idle screw orings and washers. Is their any other seals or orings I am missing. I was wonder ing for the orings in fuel things I could replace with normal orings that are nothing special. Are the seals in throttle shaft special and can't use just normal orings. I am thinking on just getting the orings for idle screw of chacal so I know their right and don't have to worry that's a problem

    I would just get everything from chacal. He's gonna sell you everything you need and nothing that you don't.

    The throttle shaft seals are not o rings. Get the right parts from len.

    Chacal haes a 'deluxe carb rebuild kit' that has all of the common wear items - you should get it.

    Tear your carbs down completely (be meticulous) clean and inspect, cross reference with what is included in The Kit as you may have to order some other parts.

    Ok thanks I don't think I am gonna get a full rebuild kit because most of the stuff in the kit I have and it in good condition. I am gonna be placing a order to chacal soon once I figure out everything I need and get some extra money. The springs in the idle mixture screw how do I figure when they need replaced

    Cutting corners will only serve to frustrate you down the road. Just sayin.

    Most of those mixture springs are all gummed up from sitting and have a whitish glaze on em. The springs aren't as much the problem as the o-rings and washers, but they should be replaced too, even if they are in "good condition". Your eyes can only see so much. Fuel and air can get places smaller than your eyes can see.

    Preventative maintenance. Spend a couple bucks now and cackle wildly in your helmet instead of cursing some mysterious issue later.
