carburetor compatibility? 700 & 750

    Do the Hitachi carburetors from a 1982 XJ750 fit on a later XJ700 and vise versa? Are they both 33mm and the carb holders the same? If the bike originally used (XJ700 1986) BS33 carburetors, are the flanges the same as for the Hitachi using models? Must the carb holders be changed if a bike used Mikuni and then is converted to Hitachi? TIA
