    OK Folks,
I got a pair of mufflers Cermakromed, at Moore Power Coatings. The cost was $55 each, although their price list states $40 each for motorcycle mufflers.
These mufflers were from a GS750E type and in good shape, but they were black chromed and I preferred chrome. However rechroming may not be available for used mufflers, because the carbon buildup inside fouls the acid bath required. Rechroming is costly too. I chose cermakrome for the lower cost.
Anyway here is a cemakromed muffler held against an OEM Suzuki chromed muffler for your appraisal.

Interest - there is a difference when you hold then side by side but other than that I think it looks great. I doubt it is noticeable when not compared directly...

Proto, I agree with Bill. By themselves they will look good but next to a chrome muf like you pic they look hazy. IMHO, the hazy look would drive me nuts, I think. That is just my opinion, if you like it go for the gusto.

Me likey. The slightly duller look is still about a thousand times better than rust or black. Would any polishes help the look at all? By the way, what is Cermakrome?

Does anyone have any photos of Jet-Hot next to chrome?

    http://www.jet-hot.com/

I have a shop not too far from me, and they have some very interesting stuff. (different colors too)
I need to give them a call and see how sensitive they are to any rust or defects on the pipes before they do their treatment.

Someone told me it would be about $75 a muffler to get them done, but I haven't had the time to do any research yet.

Cermakrome http://www.classicchromeco.com/capscoating.htm is very similar to Jet-Hot. The application process for both is very similar to powder-coating, but at a much higher temp.

The advantage to Cermakrome that I can see is that you can polish it. Jet-hot is more like powder coat when done.

Most (quality) places will insist on doing their own prep work; rust will be gone; imperfections will be coated over in most cases.

That's right, they're very good Suzuki mufflers from a (83?) GS750E. I got no answers to my inquiries about SECA OEM mufflers, except chacal had a set but I hesitated a few days and they were sold. So these are back on the 550, they look and sound great.
