The carb diaphragms on my 91 x900 need changing, got a set with a carb rebuild kit, but literally had to tear only one I tried to replace apart and then couldn't get new one on between the plastic holders at top of slide, well i did but I split it doing it, does any one have any suggestions, Need to get bike running again soon , need it for transport, based in UK .

Paul it's not a job I've done. but CV carbs ar prevalent on 80s 90s bikes so you can try also to post on www.bikechatforums.com - thick skin required though - if any question is deemed daft.

one of the carbs I rebuilt, they split the top ring and then I think used some sort of glue to put the ring back on the top. It has some gasket seal betwen the diaphram and the ring.
I have a set of JBM diaphragms that I put in a bike but pulled out during troubleshooting. I don't think the JBM was the cause of the problem but have yet to try them again.

Was thinking of splitting the plastic ring but worried any glue would damage new diaphragm, the jbm ones need the plastic removed looking at you tube idiots guides, unfortunately being in uk the jbm ones would take too long for delivery, and to be honest would probabluy cost more than the bike is worth.
