changing engines

    i'm changing engines in my trike form an XJ750 to a FJ1100 & want to know if the wiring & ignitor box are compatible, as i got enough to do converting from shaft drive to chain drive , so any help would be appreciated .

    The important thing I have found in these swaps is that the coils are matched to the ignitor box.
    In your case, they would be, so it should work fine.
    I have some concern that there may be different advance curves in the ignitor boxes.
    I honestly do not know if there is a curve programmed into the box, but I suspect yes. Since they are both 4 cylinder engines with similar rpm curves I say go for it.

    The Advance and Firing is Controlled by the duration of the Rotor Arm on the Crank as it passes by the Ignition Pickups.

    You need to compare the two Crank Rotors for size. If the Rotor's are the same "Length" (rotating surface) ... you should be fine.

    If there is a small difference in the Duration ... then, you have to swap the Rotor, Pickups and Box!
