CHARCOAL Stator???

    I pulled my stator finally and saw it and its black and burnt up and charcoal looking...???

    Im guessing its needs to be replaced right...and its probably the source of my charging system woes right???

    You won't know until you test it. I think it should read 2 to 5 ohms between the contact rings, check the manual to be sure. The black could also be a combination ot oil leaking fron the seal behind the rotor and worn brush material. It could also be just burnt up.
