    So hello everyone

I am working on a 1983 midnight maxim 750 that is not charging... this bike has 32k miles. it was owned by my cousin for 15 years, but never ran is his possesion

    I have a stupid question...

It has a new stator that tests in spec @ .45 ohms

    New voltage regulator/rectifier

rotor is cleaned and shines, reads 4 ohms between the two rings

and the brushes have been replaced

the bike starts, and idles decent but voltage kinda floats at 12.4-12.65 even when raising rpms

Could this be caused by a bad battery?

    at the regulator
    i get the following
    red wire 12 volts constant
    black wire ground
    brown wire is 12v switched

To my understanding, my readings are in spec.

    What do you guys think?
