charging system

    i have a problem with the charging system on my XJ750, its not charging i've checked regulator by putting on new one, replaced alternator ,checked connections,cleaned earths but still only about 9 volts coming from alternator,anyone have any ideas please as i am starting to get mad & i dont want to hurt it :evil:

    Have you checked the alternator brushes? There is a wear line near the base of the brush molded into the brush itself, if the brush has worn to this point it needs to be replaced.
