    2 questions:
    1. I wrote "chatal" who lists many things for sale on this site--used his listed e:mail, and it came back to me as invalid domain name--does he have a new one? And yes, I left spaces before and after the @
    2. I need new diaphragms on the fuel pump attached to the back side of the petcock on my 85 XJ 700--can't find any anywhere--but find some for other models of XJ-s--anyone know if it is interchangeable with other models? Like which?

    Hi Preacher, That's not a fuel pump, not if it's a XJ.
    I believe you must be refering to the vacuum diaphram that is in the petcock!?

    When you e-mail chacal you cant leave any spaces in the address.
    Yep I found this out the hard way too.
    Dont know why he leaves it like that on his parts thread.

    I've bought carb parts from him and found him to be very friendly and easy to work with.

    Good luck with those carbs

    Preacher: The spaces are there to confuse robots that troll for email addresses. The thought is that humans will know to remove the spaces when using the email address. It's an anti-spam tactic similar to those pictures containing distorted letters that you must enter into a textbox to continue.

    Hi.

    I bought a re-build kit last year for the pet-cock that included the o-rings and I think oldbikebarn still does them. I don't think the xj700 has a fuelpump at least mine does'nt.

    Hey Preacher, I still exist! Just like the other guys mentioned, you have to ELIMINATE the spaces before/after the "@" symbol...and then the e-mail works. I just changed the ad to clarify this for others.

    Yes, I have the vacuum diaphram for your petcock available....it's not a fuel pump (all XJ models except the 650 Turbo's use a gravity fuel-feed method), it houses the vacuum diaphram/plunger assembly that actually allows your petcock to function in it's "automatic" mode:

    a) Aftermarket petcock Vacuum Diaphram Repair Kits. This is the part that, when worn, torn, or ruptured, allows fuel to leak into the carbs all the time. Double-gasketed plunger assembly has the o-ring plunger tip. You must save and re-use your original plastic spacer plate!

    HCP1657 petcock Vacuum Diaphram Repair Kit. Fits all XJ700/900/1100 models. Order the HCP663 washer listed below if using this repair kit to repair a petcock that originally used a "d"-ring on the plunger tip.
    $ 14.00

    b) Aftermarket petcock Complete Rebuild Kits. These kits contain the vacuum diaphram repair kit (above), plus the plastic distribution "valve", the fuel position lever o-ring, and the petcock-to-tank mounting o-ring.

    HCP1661 petcock Complete Rebuild Kit. Fits all XJ700/900 models with an original o-ringed plunger tip. Order the HCP663 washer listed below if using this repair kit to repair a petcock that originally used a "d"-ring on the plunger tip.
    $ 27.00

    HCP663 petcock Spacer Washer. Order this washer to be able to use the HCP110 diaphram repair kit on a petcock that originally used a "d"-shaped rubber ring on the plunger tip. This washer goes behind the splunger spring and acts as a tension shim to allow the spring to put more pressure on the o-ringed plunger tip, and thus allowing it to seat and seal properly.
    $ 1.00

    I recommend using the deluxe kit, so you can replace all of the "wear" parts in the petcock all at once. I also have new petcock mounting washers, fuel line, hose clips, etc. if you need to replace/upgrade any of the other parts of the fuel delivery system. You will want to check the in-tank filter and perhaps replace it, too:

    fp7) Petcock-to-Tank Mounting Screw WASHER. These washers are made from a fuel-resistant hard fiber material and need to be replaced every so often, and certainly every time you remove the petcock from the tank.

    HCP2743 OEM Petcock-to-Tank Mounting Screw WASHER. Fits all XJ550/650/700/750/900/1100 models. Each.
    $ 1.00

    HCP2743SET2 OEM Petcock-to-Tank Mounting Screw WASHERS. Fits all XJ550/650/700/750/900/1100 models. Set of two.
    $ 1.75 pair

    fl4) OEM Yamaha petcock Tank Fuel Filter. This is the tall, white filter unit (yours may have turned brown after all these years) that fits onto the petcock and goes up into the tank. 94mm tall, which may differ slightly from the stock filter height, but it doesn't interfere with anything and doesn't change the performance. It's a swell idea to replace this filter whenever you have the petcock out! FITS ALL ORIGINAL XJ550/650/700/750/900/1100 models.

    HCP116 OEM petcock Fuel Filter.
    $ 14.00

    And I, along with everyone else in the world, STRONGLY suggest that you add an in-line fuel filter (in addition to the in-tank filter, whether the in-tank filter is new or not):

    fl5) Aftermarket In-Line Fuel Filters. This is the cheapest and best investment you can make for a long, clean life for your carbs. Available as either round or cone-shaped clear plastic filter units, they go a long way towards preventing contaminants from your fuel tank ever getting into your carbs.

    HCP763 aftermarket In-Line Fuel Filter, round, 1/3" diameter filter has a clear, see-through housing with a metal screen filter. This is a straight-thru design, with inlet and outlet tubes 180-degrees opposite each other.
    $ 3.00

    HCP2733 aftermarket In-Line Fuel Filter, cone-shaped 2" long filter has a clear, see-through housing with a bronze mesh filter. This is a straight-thru design, with inlet and outlet tubes 180-degrees opposite each other. NOTE: the sintered bronze filter element goes TOWARDS the tank.
    $ 3.00

    HCP3591 aftermarket In-Line Fuel Filter, cone-shaped 3" long filter has a clear, see-through housing with a bronze mesh filter. This is a straight-thru design, with inlet and outlet tubes 180-degrees opposite each other. Longer length results in a higher fuel flow and filtering capacity. NOTE: the sintered bronze filter element goes TOWARDS the tank.
    $ 3.50

    HCP2734 aftermarket In-Line Fuel Filter, cone-shaped 2" long filter has a clear, see-through housing with a bronze mesh filter. This unit has 90-degree angled inlet and outlet tubes (pointed 90-degrees opposite of each other), which is useful in the "tight-squeeze" conditions that exist under some models! NOTE: the sintered bronze filter element goes TOWARDS the tank.
    $ 3.50

    Okay, send me an e-mail with what you needs are and I'll give you a shipping price and stock availability!
