    ...accurate enough?

I picked up a nice set of feeler gauges, but the increments aren't fine enough to check the valve shims? What to do?

I've tried all of the various combinations too!
Sometimes it's too loose, or too tight.....how do I get an accurate measure??

    On the X or Seca?

Most of them are in increments of .001"
If it's too loose, and the next bigger is too tight then you can assume you are about in the middle ( say .0035" if a .003 is too loose and a .004 is too tight)

I bought a set of metric feeler gauges that have a few more increments and easily match the valve chart.

I'm working on getting the SECA running right again........

So it's not really an extremely precise measurement?

I just checked, I have a metric set with is .05mm increments.
I'm wondering if my gaps are just way out of whack?
Revisiting this new, but I haven't touched the bike since last fall.

Dig thru your Davenport for enough to buy some new METRIC feeler gauges.
