I'm thinking of braking the bike completely down and rebuilding as a custom chopper with bare bones wiring and accessories.. Has anyone had any success custom wiring their bike with just essentials that you need to run the bike and have lights and brakes, will the motor adapt well with no cdi box or safety crap?? Thanks for any help

You can get rid of the safety circuits; the CDI (actually TCI) box is part of the ignition it will need that to run.

I had to rewire my bike when I got it and this is what I started with. I added a circuit for the turn signals, a relay to make the headlight shut off when I hit the starter button, and an accessory relay if I ever want to add something more to it.
