I caught this on the local Craigslist about 45 minutes after it was posted.

It's all original with 6500 miles. Runs and rides as new. I paid a grand for it. I was going to flip it, but I thought it would be nice to have one that runs.

    Simply stunning!

I only wish my Seca turns out even half as nice as this. How are people finding these timewarp bikes?

    Thanks for the compliments. :)

She's a looker for sure. I got lucky because the guy had at least 10 calls on it after mine and 5 the next day! I'll try to wake up early on Sunday for now on.

I went into Target to get some shirts and low and behold I found the perfect shirt for the bike. I know some of you remember the 82 Seca 550 in the movie.

I think I'll go with "NERDY" as my tag when I get it regestered.

Ranger, I'd give $500 for that one, but the tank stripes are wrong and the front fender needs painting, so I'll have to pass on it for now.........

Also, the front forks need to be black.......

And it's hard to tell from the small pix, but it seems to be missing all of the turns signals????

Have you replaced the fusebox in it yet?

    :)

    HOLY C**P!!!

I just realized I have the same diecast of the 550 Seca! Thanks for jogging my foggy memory. As I also build scale models as a hobby (it keeps me out of the bars :( ) I have a box of 1/24th scale bikes to use in dioramas and as cargo in truck models. I knew I had a Yamaha GP bike along with several Kawasaki's, Honda's and Harley's, but didn't even think about there being a Seca in there, let alone the same model that I own. Once I get my 1/1 scale bike done, I'll have to rebuild this dicast to represent it.

I was thinking that the Aioshima 1/12th scale model kit of the XJ400D was the closest I was going to get to a miniature of the XJ550R Seca. I'm glad I was wrong.

That little XJ is the only diecast, model or toy that I have ever seen of an xj bike. I found it in a little stand alone gas station in the middle of Saskatchewan (nowhere!).

I bought mine around 10 years ago, long before I ever got the Seca, at a Albertson's grocery store. They are cheap, Chinese-made toys (probably with lead paint) that sold for a buck and are fairly crude representations of bikes from the '70's and '80's. I did add detail to some of them that came out fairly nice, but I never got around to that weird red Yamaha. Looks like I'll have to do an extra special job on it now.

    thats funny...

when i go someplace and have to park a long ways away, i always answer my buddy or my wife's inquiry of parking spot with "yeah i parked in Saskatchewan" or if its REALLY far away, i say "i parked in Alberta"...
