What is the best way to clean the parts under the seat (fender etc.). There is a lot of dirt in this area but also a lot of wire running through the area which are also wet.

Would it be safe to cover the air box intake and give it a little hose off?

Spray on engine cleaner/degreaser. Let foam up and gently hose off. Do not use a pressure nozzle.

As I've said before, been giving every bike I buy a WD-40 bath for years with NO issues. Breaks up the grime and doesn't hurt electrical.
