Got my 83 650 on the road, it's running great, would like to pretty it up some. Never had these type of rims, how do I clean them up without scratching/scarring them?

I'm pretty sure these rims came from the factory with lacquer clear coat on them, so cleaning would require you to get that off first :) as it can darked, blacken with age. The same lacquer that is on your engine.

If i'm wrong chime in guys, as i'm not 100%, i'm pretty sure my rims have this coating tho.

i guess your talking about the black painted part, first wash them real good, shine the aluminum then get some liquid floor wax on a damp rag and
wipe it on the painted parts, if you get it on the brake rotors wipe it off with a wet rag before it dries
it doesn't last forever but it's not hard to do

The aluminum rims weren't sealed; they can be polished. Was just touching up mine myself, using Mother's Billet Metal polish.

You can use original Armor-All on the black part, or liquid floor wax as Polock suggests. I use a q-tip to get the nooks and crannies.
