    Quick question:

I just rebuilt my brake calipers. Everything seems to work just fine, and maybe it's always done this, but I noticed a tapping noise coming from up front. Some things about this noise:

    a) It increases and decreases with speed.

    b) It is RPM-independent.

    c) It doesn't matter whether I'm on or off the throttle, accelerating hard or engine braking.

    d) As soon as I even lightly press the front brake, it goes away.

Thinking perhaps my calipers weren't quite locked down somehow, I replaced the washers on the front caliper bolts with shiny new stainless steel ones and went for a ride. Didn't change anything.

There is no brake fluid coming from anywhere it's not supposed to be, and the brakes function well. But this tapping/clicking noise is making me a little nervous. It's not normal, is it?

    Thoughts?

flynn, i have had the same problem for several years and chalk it up to my rotors being slightly out of "true". Would like to find out if that is indeed the reason or if it could be speedo related

Hahaha, thanks. I figured I might, but you never know. There's 15,000 people on /r/motorcycles and I figured it couldn't hurt. :)

Your disc(s) are out of true and your pads are loose hence the noise
