So i was riding today through our down town area today not really pushing the bike at all just cruising. I was comeing to a blind hair pin 90 that is a negativeslope know is a bit slick with two manholes in my lane. I slow down to enter the corner and look to see if i see anyone coming and it dont so i continue on my way i reach about whAt i would call the apex when a speeding van blast its horn at me as its coming into my lane across the double yellow. So i instictively pull the clutch in and grab alittle front break and pull the bike out of the turn to go wider and i suddenly remember as the back of my bike passes me that i had only passed one of the manhole covers completely. But on the other hand i had found the missing one with my back tire. So as i slid acrossthe pavement i wonder if the van will come back and see if im OK and hope fully we dont find any parked cars of our own.

We got lucky i twisted my ankle( was under the bike for a min) and it trashed my bars shift lever clutch lever and clutch lever post. No parked cars where hurt in this learning experiance. Btw the van never stopped and no one was around which i guess was good cause they would have prolly called the cops anyway.

But this just bring up a problem we have in my area we have bad driver coming from china and korea and getting handed liecences like candy cause they have next to 0 testing for internationals here. Not to menction we get tons of people on phones and just not noticeing bikes. I want well i almost need louder pipes ( stock exaust) just to be noticed i feel. This wasnt my first near miss ( first though that i went down) they happen all the time and its always people saying sorry. Well sorry dosent cut it. IT DOSENT MEND BONES OR BRING PEOPLE BACK.

And before anyone asks i was wearing my helmet and jacket. I always wear protection if im out ( but i will ditch the jacket if im in the country i know shame but its nice out there).

I live right off of a near 180 hairpin and people cut it all the time I have probably had a dozen near misses on it since I got here in April. Anywhere there is a tight corner there is people who can't be bothered to slow down enough to stay in their own lane.

PS. IME Nobody hears pipes from the inside of their car unless your right in front of them so I doubt they would have helped you. They just make people on the side of the road dislike bikers cuz they are too loud.
