The Clutch safety switch is missing on my bike.
Is there harm in jumping the connector in the head light bucket?
Other than the ability to start the bike without pulling in the clutch- even when in gear- is there an issue electrically?
I always pull in the clutch everytime I start my bike anyways, just always done that, even in neutral.

no harm , your just bypassing a safety switch....
why not get a new one?
mine just broke today so i cut the wires at the switch and twisted them to gether untill I get a new one from chacal wish this happened yesterday I just made a purchase from him for some other things

HCP11619 Aftermarket clutch hand lever SAFETY SWITCH, complete with lead harness. Fits all of the following models: XJ550 all models, XJ650 all models, XJ700 all models, XJ750 Maxim and Midnight Maxim models, XJ1100, and 1981 XS1100 models. NOTE: wire and connector shell color differ from originals, but it does not matter which way the wires are installed, as these are merely "on-off" switches. Wire leads are approximately 3" shorter than originals.

    XJ550H,
    Thanks for the reply,
I will be getting a bunch of new parts from Chacal for the Winter.
Several things to accomplish when it is too cold and wet to ride.
Carb rebuild, new clutch, starter assembly, primary chain and guide.
Before I tear into the bike and lose the ride,
Just wanted to make sure ( was pretty sure already) that there would be no harm in bypassing the switch.
I believe there is a relay involved, so should not be a problem being engaged full time.
Your dog is just freaky....he looks rabid....:)
