Oil, clutch plates, clutch cable. Not nec. in that order.

    - What kind of oil is in it?
    - What is the condition of the clutch plates?
    - Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable in at all?

You might simply pull the clutch apart and CLEAN everything. You may find that it was just gummed up from sitting, or it could be time for some new friction plates. Don't "slip it" too much or you'll cook the drive (plain) plates and up the price tag on the rebuild.

Its always a good idea to change the clutch springs when inspecting. Springs do wear out over time, especially after 30 years. I bet they are a little weak.
