So I threw on the new Dyna coils today. Well..just kind of rigged up at the moment actually, but I'm attempting to understand the wiring. The black wire that ran to the right side coil I assume was a ground? Then I assume the left coil grounded through the bolt that attaches the coils? Since I just have these rigged up at the moment, but want to see if I can get the bike started right now, there is no bolt connecting both coils to ground. Do I simply need to make sure I run a wire from ground to that other coil?

The original coils were grounded through the bolts and the right side had an additional wire running to ground too. If you are saying that you no longer have bolts that are securing the coils then yes they do need to be grounded to the frame. Through a wire that you rig up would be sufficient as long as its not a piece of phone wire
