Coils

    I think that this bike has been messed with. Its new ( to me ) and i havent tried to start it yet.

    But the previous owner said it was running rough.

    I am unsure that the coil wires are correct and if the HT leads are in the correct sequence.

    I would be very grateful for any advice.

    the ignition coils are , L/H side coil (with the orange and red "with white tracer" primary wires, fires the no's 1 and 4 plugs
    R/H side coil ( with the grey and red "with white tracer " primary wires, fires the no's 2 and 3 plugs

    it makes no differance which way round you put the 2 plug wires of each respective coil as the Yamaha system uses the "Wasted Spark " system
    i.e. the plug also fires on the exhaust stroke as well as the compression stroke
