Has anyone thought of this... and no I didn't search

just thinking. send 70 dollar deposit, take 5 for rental 7. for shipping return the balance?

    12 from 70 = 58 back?

    12 - 55 (chacal price) saving 43 bucks?

I used to "rent" my specialty tools to cars owners all the time... SHO = tappet compressor and hold down tool, rx7 the 38mm socket to remove flywheel, my dana 60 locknut removal socket... etc etc

Just ordered one from eBay (Merry Christmas to me) for $49 including shipping... If you live in the greater D.C. area you're welcome to come use it.

Not a bad idea. I can't say that I would be much help though. Right now after doing my bike, I have to help my brother with his sleds and a friend with a Ninja. Seems every time I buy a tool, people come out of the woodwork. At least it saves me beer money.

    TAS,

I don't know how other members feel about "renting" out their colortune plug. I don't know how the guru's feel about the "need" for one. IMO, if you are new to bikes it might be in your best interest to own one. At least until you get to the point where you can do some of what the guru's can do by sound, feel, plug chops and the likes. The plug is not like a socket or a tool that's difficult to break. I don't know at what point the glass in the colortune will break but to my understanding if you overheat the plug you will break the glass and render the plug useless. While I am very careful not to overheat the plug, it doesn't take but a few minutes with the right set up so you can access the mixture screws to find bunsen blue. Plus, I might be going a bit overboard, but I'm thinking I'd like to check my "tuning" periodically just to make sure I'm good (every 2.5k instead of 5k). I'd be more apt to just "loan" my colortune to a member or friend, but we all know the code...you break it, you bought it.

    yeah I hear yah.

I have a modular WB02 that my friends always ask to borrow. when they "tune" there car.

Seeing as the whole getup was 500 I am alittle reluctant to lend it out. 50 on the other hand wouldn't mind.

Speaking of lent tools I need to get my sawzall back.
