Probably has something to do with it. I have seen a colortune used, engine revved, and no problems. Not saying it's a great idea...just saying. 8)

Here's the thing. That glass will blow out at a certain maintained psi. If you know anything about electronics, it's very similar (in fact it's the analog equivalent) to a diode, or more specifically a LED.

LED's can be much brighter if flashed very quickly utilizing their peak current for short bursts, after which the led electrodes dissipate heat and cool just enough to be pushed to their limit again. If you flash it too fast even within it's peak limitations, the LED won't recover, it will just burn out.

    This relates, I promise.

When you rev your engine, you're increasing (of course) your RPM's, which means the weakest point on the colortune plug isn't being given enough time to recover. Some may never have a problem rock'n out at 10k for 5 min, some will go if you just bip it. It's just one of those things, it will stand idle pressures for tuning... otherwise everyone would just run colortune plugs all the time (if you're cool spending $50 a plug that is).

By the way, my first colotune plug for my first project bike (second bike ever) arrives Fri.
