Completely New!!

Howdy Yall!

I'm a 26yo female from east Texas. I am completely new to the world of motorcycle....just got my license in January and have now gotten my first 2 bikes. WOOHOO!
I have an 82 Seca 750 which was pretty much given to me by a family friend....it needs a lot of love and i have done quite a bit to it already (thank goodness for the motorcycle junk yard near my home and all the help i've gotten from reading on webpages like this one) I also have an 02 Honda Rebel which i got just 3 weeks ago and have only started to ride this week.

I took my first ride ever by myself on a bike last weekend and i'm totally hooked! Now I'm a biker chick for life! I think my Beetle is jealous, hehe.

lol sure....come on...maybe u can direct wire my headlight for me too while ur here. Yes there is a junkyard with old bikes....pretty much nothing newer than '90....it's pretty well picked thru and not open very often, but it sure has helped me get my seca street legal

 

oooo i love wiring... i take it you looked at my gallery? i never have time for poor barney but swapping the lights was fun!... might be able to help ya get a diagram... but i think ill stay in nebraska

Welcome to the fold ma'am, glad to have you along for the ride. Sounds like the bike bug bit you pretty hard, nothing wrong with loving to ride! Wiring is possible for the layman (or woman if you prefer) with just a bit of education before hand. My I suggest a quick tour of Dan's Motorcycle Repair page (www.dansmc.com) and just read up a little. Best of luck to you in your efforts, sounds like your off to the right start!

What,.. another Texan! How many of those guys....oops gals are there? So how much needs to be done on the Seca? We have a carb clinic every year in the Dallas area. Usually around May or June. So keep that in mind if it is running by spring.
Totally new to biking! I first thought the penquin avatar was alluding to the XJ relay. But I guess you weren't in that. Great bunch of guys here even if they are flirts! But in keeping with my favorite Keith Sykes album "It don't hurt to flirt".

I'd like to know how penguinlady got her name since there aren't many penguins in Texas. It sounds like one of the characters on the Sci-Fi Channel's Who Wants to be a Superhero! Or maybe one of the super villans? LOL

I am that old and it's been 4 years since I last rode a bike further than 1 kilometre, but I'm determined to sort that. As for getting out more I agree but I have been out the last 2 nights and I am suffering for it. :cry:
