Here is the problem, the original ignitor had problem but I had another one but not the TID14-02 so the connections were different.
So we tried to change them and test the thing AND we did not make a drawing how the connections were originally.

So can someone help here? [IMG]

So the 4-connector have Grey and Black in the back and Orange and striped Redand White in hte front. I don't think we changed these ones.

The 6 connector have for the moment Grey and Brown in the back and Orange and Black in the front.

The new connector that is on its way from eBay is a TID 14-02 and has only 4 connections in 6-pin connector.

So if someone has the XJ650 Maxim (1980-81) and the TID14-02 and have time to check how the wires are connected you make one guy here out in the jungle of Thailand very happy!

(Why did we try another ignitor? Well, I had 2 XJ650's, one with a license and a very rusty frame and one without license and a very good frame.

So we took both apart in small pieces, welded the frames, repainted everything, took the best parts from both bikes and got a very good one.

And then disaster hit with some kind of shortcut with blowen fuses and in the end an ignitor that did not work. So we had 2 ignitors, one original and one that was not original but HAD WORKED. So that is why we even tried to get the damned thing to work. )
