Hi spoondaddy, you realy should get yourself a manual, I mean, like, tire pressures :?
You can replace the fork seals, the forks should be ok, unless they have been damaged by impact.
There is a procedure to replace the clutch plates, which with help from this site you should be able to accomplish.
There are plenty of gasket sealers on the market, find in any auto shop.

You are in a different league than most of us in here.
You have an XJ-Bike; but it's quite different from the Shaft Drive Models most of us have.

The best thing you can do for yourself ...
Get a Factory Workshop Manual -- specific to your bike.

The Factory Manual will have Owners Manual Information in the front.
The Factory Manual will have a COMPLETE Service and Repair Reference divided into Individual Systems and sub-systems.

The answer to every question is found within its pages.
The Factory Manuals are $75~100 US
    Worth every cent.
Treat yourself to the Bible for your Bike.
Buy a Manual before you do anything without consulting one.
