Crankcase breather bent?

    Hi guys,

    I have just bought a 550 maxim here in the UK. Needs some work to get it running right.

    I noticed what looks like a crankcase breather hose bent? Is this what this is? And why would someone do this? Or maybe just a mistake?

    It looks like the side stand switch has been removed and that is part of the wire loom to the switch.

    This something to investigate. It is part of the safety system. It keeps you from driving away with the side stand down.

    just to add if sidestand is down when you put bike in gear motor stalls , also when you pull up and park and deploy sidestand motor shuts down.

    you will want to replace that paper fuel filter with a sintered brass filter paper tends to not work well.

    you can pull the side stand relay to bypass the sidestand untill you can get parts to fix it . it is the one under the seat behind the tool tray. you can see the holder in photo

    Filter in the post, will be sorting that, cleaning tank and syncing carbs.

    Will create a build thread to replace this one
