Otter - sweet. That'll make 3 xj's I help get on the road this year.

Pabst - where ever you want to break off is good with me.

Dang that is quite a loop there. Would like to come, but not sure if I will be able to make it. Participating in beer olympics 2morrow. Not sure how I will feel Sunday morn. Hate to miss it, looks like a good turnout.

Iwin and I will be leaving Maryland about 30mins late. There's some rain here that should pass to SE shortly; just waiting it out a little bit.

Thanks for making the trip. We didn't really follow the original map past where we split. We rode out 283 to dillsburg. Then Otter and I came down 15 to MD140 and back home. I got home about 7.

I redid the map and it showed a total round trip for me today of 241 miles. Not a boda day at all.

I am still on the fence about selling the XJ... but I'd love to go ride with you guys whenever.

I can in at right around 250 miles for the day.

It's kind of like that first chick you fell in love with back in high school. She was awesome! You got to feel things out, really get your hands on all the important parts, and she helped get over being nervous. She was a little maintenance, but not too much; I mean, you definately had to put in some time in and put on protection before the ride, but it was all worth it.

But time goes by..you grow more confident, and you feel like it's time to move on; get yourself an upgraded model, something new and fresh. So you do that, you get yourself a hot shiny new gal and have a blast workin her gears and, well, just tearing it up.

Then, while your riding your new love, wherever that takes you, your mind slips back to the days gone by and you miss that one you let go, and it pains you to know that some other guy's riding her now (probably not even wearing protection) - and you wish, just for one day, you could have her back again.

Next thing you know, you're online every night trying to find out where she's stayin' and how she's held up over the years; just trying to catch a glimpse of what was, and what could have been.

But you don't find her. Instead, every so often, you see some other guy with one that looks just like her from a distance.

    Yeah, it's like that.

I just wanted to say I had a great ride with the bunch of you. It was really nice to meet you all. Sorry it's taken this long for me to post but I haven't had a chance to log on to my computer much this week. I ended up with 182 miles on my journey and I'm looking forward to the next ride. Thanks Iwin for taking the lead and keeping us out of the horse dung. Thank you Neal for getting my idle/choke under control. I never knew that adjustment knob was under there. I enjoyed checking out the other XJ's and getting input. The Versys was pretty sweet looking too especially with the fur. Here is a link to those 44 magnum bolt covers for anyone else who is as anal as I am about rusty bolts. Innovative Motorcycle Accesories . Nice pictures Iwin. I wish I had brought my camera with me. Hope to ride with you guys again soon!

I like those bolt covers. If you need different sizes let me know. I can probably find brass in just about any size with enough notice.

If i were to use my bike just for fun, then I would keep the XJ. But I put 2500 miles on the bike every month and there is no time for me to have nostalgic time with the maxim... I want to sell it to a rider that is going to use it a lot, just like I did.

She was a roudy b!tch and I needed a girl with much less maintenance. lol
