unfortunately the migration has created a mountain of dead links to xj forum threads. the information overload hour is one that suffers the most imho.

this really sucks! I want the old forum back.

Patience brother member. There's a lot going on here. I'm sure most of the important links will get migrated at some point. Sno is sharp.

There's not even a "next thread" button (???) to quickly go thru posts

Hopefully these features will be "turned on" soon.

I know, it just happens that I need certain info right now and can't find it, even though I had it bookmarked. I have also discovered that the search feature is case sensitive and is difficult to use because you have to have the exact spelling and punctuation as what you are looking for.

Is there anyway to access old pages? I "Bookmarked/Favorites" from the old site and now they're just "Maintenance" pages. Such as >>> http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=29209.html (XJBikes.com › Forums› AIRHEAD VALVE ADJUSTMENT Part 2 The Tool vs. ZipTie -w-pics). I've now "Bookmarked/Favorites" some but on my computer from the new site, but what a pain. Am I missing something?
    Thanks

You can create a "conversion link" from the old forum links via this method:

    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=29209.html

    becomes:

    http://xjbikes.com/forums/index.php?threads/29209

Or, as a more general format, the TOPIC NUMBER "t" in the old links (in the above example, the topic number t =29209) becomes appended to the general structure of the new link of:

    http://xjbikes.com/forums/index.php?threads/{TOPIC NUMBER t}

If it helps, you can think of "t" as the THREAD ID NUMBER (or topic ID number, potato/potatoe).....

Note that if the "old link" that you have is in the format of a POST NUMBER "p", then there is no Easy Way(tm) (actually, you can use the wayback machine archives, and slog thru 129,000+ entries, but that's like, rabid, man) to convert it over to a new link.....such as these:

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=176959.html

    or

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=149243.html#149243

Wow chacal nice job! Wish you would have taught one of my IT classes instead of the pathetic... (nevermind).
I was able to find most of my "Favorites" by bringing up Properties and using the end File name then Searching on the new site. It actually brought up what I wanted plus some additional posts that were related.
I was able to find >>>
    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=32947/ = http://xjbikes.com/forums/index.php?threads/32947
which did not show up by my search method, but did by yours.
Unrelated to this Topic but... I miss the "Scrolling" lastest posts. Is it here somewhere or gone? I always wished it would have been more than the last 10 posts, more like 20. It was like a scrolling chat. lol
