Hi, I have a dunlop 404 (new) on the back of my bike. I can get a shinko for $42.00 from jc whitney. Does it matter ? or should I get a dunlop 404 for the front. Thanks

It is better if they do match, but I know guys who run different makes. The compounds, tread, and construction might make it handle differntly. If you don't have matched tires, be extremely careful during the first few hundred miles to ensure that the handling is not impaired. Personally I would try to match your Dunlop.

I think I'll get the dunlop. It's only a few bucks more. Thanks

It can be done but it is advisable to get tires that work together, i.e. similar handling characteristics and such.
