I am going to be rebuilding my 82 xj750 seca, but first I have to start by saying that I do not have a clue what I am doing, but feel confident enough in the vast wealth of knowledge on this site that I went for it!
It may also mean that I am not the brightest :D
I have began the tear down portion, and have removed the wiring harness, a bunch of the connectors were cracked and brittle (so I will need to replace those) and it leads me to believe that re-making a new harness is the better way. I am also removing the fish finder dash (although, I currently do not have a replacement) :?
I need to know what would go in a rebuilt harness  just the basics, headlight, taillight, blinkers, ignition, etc (notice the "etc", in this situation, it means that I am drawing a complete blank and REALLY need somebody to tell me exactly what is needed)
Any help would be extremely well received. Thanks in advance, and once I figure out how to post pics direct, I will, until them they will be in my gallery.

Thanks Street, I am probably going to end up using the original harness, take away whats not being used, then make a new harness with fresh wires out of whats left.
Considering I am also not 'electrically' inclined, this seems the easiest way.

And one more thing, their is a box with wires going to it and a fitting for a vacum line that says"boost sensor, what is that and do I need it?? If so where does it wire in,.I don't see one in the wiring diagram for the "XJ" series listed here??I am assuming that it's the electronic vacume advance that I would like to bypass if possible. The color combination on the wiring is quite different on the 1100 than what is shown on the diagram I have found here.
    Thanks.
