Does this mean it's running too hot?

I found a pretty clean looking bike for sale and the guy says it's running great but i noticed in the picture that the exhaust pipes are kinda turning blue right where they come out. Check out the pic. I don't think i have ever really seen that before.

The bike is like a 3 hour drive away and I don't wanna go all the way there if it's not really worth looking at. Plus the guy looks like kind of a doofus so I don't wanna take his word LOL!

well, the blue can just mean that oil got spilled on the pipes or that he used a wax on them, my pipes turned blue when i spilled brake fluid on them and didnt clean it completely off before i rode it.

it's normal to have some bluing on single-wall exhaust. If that's double-wall exhaust, that motor should be toast by now, methinks...

looking at the pis it appears as though theres lots of oil build up by the exhaust holes, maybe it burns oil? maybe he did spill oil, but man that is ALOT of blue

    Maybe they're aftermarket Pipes.
Aftermarket's have a tendency to turn blue just about the instant you get the engine running after putting them on.

If they are the real deals ... that bike has been run hard and lean.

I run a touch Lean on stock Pipes and my aren't blue.

LOL Yeah, I thought that was kinda funny too. Although I took it to mean that it is ready to hit the road. At least I hope that's what he meant.
I'd hate to think that the bike hadn't had any maintenance in 20 years 8O

People will say and write anything in hopes to get rid of a bike for some reason.
    One of my favorites is:

"I just had the whole bike totally rebuilt; just turn the key and go."

I think that you guys are missing something here, there isn't a muffler on the left side of the bike. I am guessing that he went with either a straight pipe or other muffler and didn't do a jet change or other carb adjustment. That's my guess.

    Good eyes; Slultzie!
    That would explain it.
I'd have to do a Compression Check and a Road Test before forking-over any dough.
