Was thinking about my tires, the shop put them on & I just checked the pressure & 31.5 on my nifty digital gauge.

Considering I'm 190 pounds & it's an 82 XJ650 Maxim; with these tires, what's a good pressure for safety and mileage?

    Thank ye

What does your OWNER'S manual say?

I would go 26-28 in the front and 29-33 in the rear on that bike, and see how it handles. If the rear still feels "greasy" in corners go up to 34-36 in the rear.

I run 25-27F and 30-32R on my 550 Secas (one has D404s) and the 650 is 100lb heavier.

I really didn't peruse the owner's manual on this one. These Dunlops weren't around 28 years ago and I'm not sure that tire recommendations from back then are adequate to todays tire technology. Something that's a constant like torque specs or assembly info I'd not question but tire to road is something that's always (hopefully) improving.

I do value the input in this forum. I'll try 28 in the front and 33 in the rear & report back.

    Thanks for the suggestion

I have 404's on everything except the intruder, and I keep them all at 40psi

I've tried several different settings now & still don't seem to have it where it seems "best" I've got them at front 35 and real 38. So far that's the best I've come up with. Still checking...
