I have read about a few people running these coils on other forums.
But info is sketchy at best...
I'm curious which ones to use? They are way cheaper than factory coils (mine are pretty tired), but they make 3ohm & 5ohm coils.
Which ones are compatible with our bikes wiring??[IMG]

I checked it out, his price on those coils isn't that bad.
The ones we need for these bikes are the 3ohm ones.
According to the dyna catalog, the installation kit is discontinued. Unless he has some old stock.
    I might message him?

I think he's mad at me though, cause I questioned the high prices on his Jets.. lol

Len's coils and mounting kits work like a charm. You have to relocate the signal flasher but that's easy.

you need 3 ohm coils. notice the direction of the mounting holes on those, compare it to yours.
other than that, i've run them for two years with accel copper wires they work fine

Did you make your own brackets?
I was looking at the way they mount, it points them sideways.. lol
The fact that the installation kit is discontinued makes me a bit leary. It might be better to just wing it.
    Plus I'm cheap..

I'm pretty sure that the installation kit that Chacal sells is his own in-house item, and is meant for all the XJ550, 650 and 750 models.

    Correct, but it's really for the 650, 750 air-cooled, 900, and 1100 models.

    Correct!

An alternative is 81 thru 83 Honda CB750 coils....you can buy brand new from Cycle Recycle part 2 39.95$ each these coils mount just like stock. The plug wires are replaseable they also sell wires and plug caps.I've been running them for over 1000 miles of trouble free use.
