Off on a massive 5 day trip in 2 days and up until last Sunday the 900 was still running rich.

I rang the bike shop on Saturday morning to discuss putting the bike on their Dyno and he told me that the mixture screws only affected the idle and it was idling fine. He said that if you want to adjust the running mixture that I had to adjust the needles but moving the clip up a slot. I did this and it was better but still not right so I moved it to the last slot which is the leanist and today she went on the dyno and here's the results:

I can see a bit of improvement can be made if you can tidy up the air/fuel and it might take a bit of that hole out of the Hp curve at 5-6000rpm

probably cost a bit for the time it'll take, but it'll be worth it

Yea I was thinking that too, but for now it's good enough for a trip to the Brass Monkey :)

that is the air fuel mixture...I believe (its been awhile) that it is running on the rich side. with a little tweeking, you'll see that lag in the curve go away with some jet and or air/fuel mixture adjustments. It'll be a much improved power curve.

Just rode her 2500 odd kms in the last 5 days and on day 4 I got the carbs synced and mixture set correctly and I'd be willing to bet that if I had it Dyno'd now it would be a whole lot different :)

Well....we would all like to see the difference syncing and mixture make on the Dyno (subtle hint)

How much noticeable difference was there to the preformance, idle, etc.?

Hope you had a good trip and did not get too wet!

I would love to put her back on the dyno now, but at $135 an hour it's just a bit of a waste of money.

Got rained on at the site and had 4 days of rain free riding :p

No difference to the idle, but it was pretty sweet anyway (at least it will be soon when I sort out one little thing with the carbs). It did however make a huge difference to the cruising, especially at low speeds, it's a whole lot smoother. Also responds a whole lot better when you give her a fist full of throttle, which I was doing on a pretty regular basis, as ya do
