Yeah, it was a trick getting the exhaust off. No broken studs though! And you can bet I put anti seize on those threads... though I doubt I'll be pulling them off again anytime soon. It went much smoother than I expected. Also changed the oil sending unit o ring.

I had recently noticed a bit of oil dripping onto my chrome cover on my exhaust pipes, and looking underneath, could see a bit of oil sitting on top of the collector. I don't know for certain where the oil was leaking from, but it could have been the oil sending unit, and until I took the cover off (not knowing the unit could be pulled from the pan without it's removal) it's a good thing I did order a new gasket. Getting all the old gasket off was quite a trick. Cleaning it upside down. Lots of crud in the bottom of the oil pan too (like sludge). All gone now.

I also got my engine guards today and spray painted them black (chrome was in poor shape). Looks good! Now, for a decent set of highway pegs.

I ended up changing mine today too!

The PO had cross-threaded the drain plug and today was a good day to swap oil pans.

It's a lot easier when the bike is 4 feet off the floor though :)

Wow! I thought about buying a bike lift, but your idea is much better! Too bad the rafters in my garage wouldn't support the weight. I see your gasket came off in bits and pieces too. Did you use sandpaper to remove the stuff that didn't come off easily?

    Nice legs! :D

Gasket scraper took it off pretty easy.

    Buddy Dave's legs 8O
My occasional round of golf has given me a little bit of color.

I built the shop from the ground up and put crane rails in the roof...so I can put the bike on top the bench if I want :D
