The down side on the electric bike is a 15-20 mile range and 6hr charge time. That sucks, maybe different batteries or more of them would offer more range.

For longer range, and performance you'd need: Different batteries, different motor, different frame, different........you get the idea. 3-4 more years and used Brammo or Zero will be just the thing.

I talked with this inventor, built a 3 seat, 3 wheel car that runs 40 MPH on solar panels alone, and can hit 85 MPH with the 3 on-board batteries.

When you park the car at your house, it charges it's batteries, then - - it FEEDS the excess POWER back to the grid, cutting your power bill !

    It uses no gas !
(unfortunately, the car is as butt-ugly as a highschool science project)

You guys do know about Electric Motorcycle Racing, right; TTXGP? http://www.egrandprix.com/

Within a couple of years, Formula 1 cars will be required to run on only electricity when in the pit lane. They already employ KERS technology (kinetic energy recovery system.)

A friend of mine has been working on an electric motorcycle for a few years now: (as you can tell, since this is from 2008)

I can't seem to find an actual build thread, this is just a random flickr picture. I'll see if I can find his blog or whatever. It's pretty involved, it's not one of these "stuff a bunch of car batteries in a bike" deals. Pretty much a completely from scratch project.

My question is,where do the batteries end up from your Prius,Volt, etc? And do people realize what they cost to replace.

All those batteries probably weigh more that the original motor did.

The 550 turbo mod was nice, but he must not have known about the factory 650 turbo. I know he wanted to use his own setup for test results, but how much difference is there? Chain vs. shaft - 550cc vs. 650cc - 6speed vs. 5speed.
    Definitely needs a better fairing.
