I own 2 1981 XJ550'S. The latest one is in really good shape and will be my everyday rider once i finally get my key for it (long story). The other one is in rougher shape. I have an opportunity to buy an 82 XJ750 Maxim for $200.00 that has a really good engine. Would i get a power advantage if i put this engine in my XJ550 frame or would it even fit? I wan't to turn the rough one into a drag bike.

750 is shaft drive 550 is chain drive, they don't swap. For $200 why not buy it too? So many projects, so little time!
