Hey guys. Would anyone know why 2 of my xj600 enrichment plungers are leaking? The boots are fine and the plungers are sung against the carb body. The fuel looks like is coming out in between the body and plunger nut. Not from the boots. Maybe they're not seating properly? Do they wear out? Is there anyway to get in there and clean the seat? Is there a seal in there I missed? Btw, they have just been thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt following the directions in the church of clean. Every single seal has been replaced in each carb. Dipped in chem dip. Blew air through every passage. All adjustments made. Maybe I missed something?

    Thanks

There shouldn't be any fuel getting anywhere near there for there to be fuel leaking out.
You've got fuel leaking past the float needles.
    Possible causes:

    Stuck float(s).

Float needle seat not sealed to the carb body.

Fuel levles set too high (did you wet set?)

Float needles not lapped to the seats (brass float needles), or dirty seat (viton tipped needles).

Also. If you didn't remove the enrighment plungers (sounds like you didn't since you're asking about how to clean the seat) then you missed some of sermon when you went to church.

Fuel DOES have the ability to leak past the plungers if they are dirty, or the bottoms of any plunger is not sealing perfectly with the set in there.pull the plunger and polish the bottom, and polish the seat in the carb body. if it still continues, then you either have a nick in the plunger, it's bent, or you have a score or something in the body/seat that is not allowing a good seal

oR.....you have a plunger that is hanging open. The dust boot will allow fuel to leak past it if it gets up there......they are just to keep dust from getting DOWN in there. If your fuel is also leaking out around the BASE of the plunger nut, then either it is NOT tight to the body, or te flange has broken away from the nut. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen that. They can break away as a result of over-tightening.......which results in the nut being threaded to far in, the flange breaks away, and starts sliding up along the nut, and there is no good seal anymore.
