EV car conversion

    I’ve been thinking about converting an existing small 4cyl car into an electric vehicle. I’m just starting my research on this topic. Maybe someone here can answer some questions that may come up. Heck if needed I could create an Electric Vehicle forum. Although the conversion process (gas to electric) seems fairly simple I still don’t know all the components needed.

    I’m wondering if one could install a small generator under the hood and use it to start battery charging when needed? Small generators can run for hours but I’m not sure if they create enough power to run an electric car? What are you thoughts on all of this :idea: ?

    A small engine under the hood is how Toyota does it. There are already lots of EV forums so you probably don't need to start one. I had an electric truck once, they are pretty simple compared to a Toyota, just a motor, controller and some really big batteries. There are a lot of websites that have info and parts, here are some but you can find lots more with Google or just buy a Tesla Roadster. If you still want to build one there's a good article on converting a Jeep to electric power.
